Galway 3-14 Kilkenny 0-17: Tribeswomen triumph in Camogie final

Galway are All-Ireland Camogie champions for a third period, following a 3-14 to 0-17 triumph over Kilkenny at Croke Park.
The game was played before a record crowd at the Jones’ Road place as 24,730 appreciated the showpiece match.
The title had not been won by the Westerners since 2013, when they backed their National League name with all the All-Ireland campaign in which they conquer both Cork and Kilkenny, and few could question their victory.
The Tribeswomen scored three objects which proved crucial, as they were helped by a brace out of a Niamh Hanniffy effort and Ailish O’Reilly into a 3-7 to 0-10 lead at the break. The Cats worked their way back into the tie, and hauled it back into only 3 points upcoming injury time.
As they ran out winners, But a run of Galway points steered them house.
